Noah Wilson was diagnosed with cancer in April of 2014 at the age of six, but never let it change his passion to help others. He always had a huge heart and was constantly looking for ways to help people. His love for others did not change even when he was facing a devastating diagnosis. When his treatment began, he found himself getting pokes almost daily. The hospital where he was being treated did not have ‘cool’ bandages, leaving the children there having to settle for the boring brown ones. Noah saw this as an opportunity to help his fellow patients, and decided that he wanted to start collecting cool and fun bandages for his new friends.

Noah passed away in June of 2015, but not before starting his endeavor, and making a huge difference in the world. In honor of Noah and his legacy, Noah’s Bandage Project continues, and will continue, to help kids all across the globe.

We were pleased to announce that the first RTI Direct Impact Project supported Noah’s Bandage Project by collecting bandages and sending them to a single collection point in Kansas. These bandages were then distributed to locations all over the world

Our ‘direct impact projects’ are never easy, nor do we choose the goals arbitrarily. They are aggressive, challenging, but altogether invaluable targets to aim for. They are goals where we know that in their pursuit, we will be improving lives, spreading happiness, and doing so much good for so many.

Gathering one million bandages is a logistical monster. Shipments passing in the night, tracking numbers, address corrections, and oh — those dear, sweet, wonderful postal and package carriers. Bless ’em. But the volunteer crews at the barn in Kansas were incredible, and put in long hours in the summer heat to ensure that every sticky little strip was accounted for.

And the numbers rocked us back on our heels.

We sought to gather a million kids’ bandages. With the combined efforts and hearts of the Hogwarts Running Club, Chilton Running Club, and Whovian Running Club, we collected 1,721,404.

This is the largest single contribution that Noah’s Bandage Project has ever received. In fact, it nearly doubles the total bandages they have collected to date. It’s a record-setting achievement, but we’re not in this for recognition. It’s a proud moment for the tens of thousands who run and participate with Random Tuesday, Inc., but we didn’t do this for ourselves. We did this for kids. Amazing, beautiful, tough, funny, wonderful, irreplaceable kids. Our wish is that every time a medical professional applies a bandage to a child getting yet another blood draw during their pediatric cancer treatment, that child can look at the bright colors, silly designs, cartoon faces, and their day gets even the tiniest bit better.

Thank you dearly, runners. You proud witches and wizards of Hogwarts, you sharp and savvy students of Chilton, you clever and brilliant Whovian space-time travelers — thank you one and all for being given a challenge, and like so many finish lines we’ve painted before you, leaving it far behind. We love you all.
